Medica, a nonprofit organization, has provided Minnesotans with affordable quality health care for the last 30 years. Known as a pioneer for HMO and PPO plans in the state, the company has expanded its network of health care providers to offer plans to 1.2 million customers throughout Wisconsin, North Dakota, and South Dakota. According to the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), the most trusted authority on health plan ratings, Medica’s commercial and Medicaid HMO plans consistently earn an “Excellent” rating. The NCQA honor is important, as the designation for excellence is awarded only after a plan is evaluated by the NCQA for 3 years.
