Humana offers a wide range of products to choose from:
  • SmartSuite, group insurance products that involve employees in managing costs. Employers choose a package of plans to present to employees for their selection. High Deductible Health Plans linked with Health Savings Accounts (HSA) are available, as are HMO, PPO, and Flexible Spending Account products. SmartSuite products are available to fully insured groups over 100 members and self-funded group over 150.
  • SmartExpress, allows smaller employer groups to offer a set of insurance plans for employees to choose from. The SmartExpress offers the same programs as the SmartSuite line of products. It is available to fully insured groups ranging in number from 2 to 299.
  • High Deductible Health Plans, allow employers to couple a high deductible health insurance plan with a Health Savings Account (HSA). This type of plan empowers employee selection choice and fund management.
  • Personal Care Account PPO, combines a low-premium, high deductible PPO product with an employer-funded self directed spending account based on the IRS approved Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) guidelines. Funds can be used to pay for deductibles, drugs, vision, dental care, and other IRS approved expenditures.
  • CoverageFirst PPO, a new model PPO plan that encourages consumer involvement through a benefit allowance. The plan covers the first $500 of eligible expenses, and once used, the individual must pay a high deductible amount. But, after the deductible is met, the coinsurance covers most of the additional medical expenses. If a member pays the maximum annual out-of-pocket expense amount, the plan covers the rest of eligible medical expenses. This plan is a good fit for people that are healthy and have low medical costs throughout the year.
